چکیده
SYNOPSIS Pneumoconlosls of coalminers appears to be a conglomerate of fibrosis, emphysema, bronchial obstruction and simple clogging of the lung tissues and air spaces with dust. The prevalence of pneumoconiosis and of chronic obstructive bronchitis and emphysema amongst New South Wales coalminers is considered. Schemes for diagnosis and assessment of severity are presented, along with some results of therapy and of post mortem studies. Field tests of lung function are evaluated in comparison with more complex laboratory investigations.

Using 15N Dilution Method to Correct for Microbial Contamination When Assessing in situ Protein Degradability of Fresh Ryegrass
This experiment was done to investigate microbial contamination and in situ disappearance rates of dry matter (DM), N and 15N of fresh labeled ryegrass. Perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) were labeled with 15N during growth in a glasshouse, harvested at 4th leaves stage and were incubated up to 34 h in situ in the rumen of 3 individually housed sheep. The animals were fed 800 g/d chopped alfal...

متن کاملPreliminary Evaluation for Vacuum Membrane Distillation (VMD) Energy Requirement
The energy requirement of vacuum membrane distillation (VMD) with or without recirculation was modelled using both experimental results and theoretical data. The trends are generally consistent between the theoretical and experimental data. Thermal energy contributes the most to the total energy required for the VMD process. To lower the thermal energy cost, waste heat resource and heat recover...
